Osborne Clarke advises Capnamic and IQ Capital on seed investment in Omegga
Published on 1st June 2026
Osborne Clarke has provided legal advice to venture capital investors Capnamic and IQ Capital on their seed investment in Omegga GmbH. As part of the financing round with a total volume of around EUR 10 million, Capnamic and IQ Capital, together with the EIC Fund, are investing in the Munich-based DeepTech start-up, which is developing an AI-supported spectroscopy technology for the early determination of sex in chicken eggs.
With its technology, Omegga addresses a central ethical and economic problem of the poultry industry: every year, billions of male chicks are killed worldwide shortly after hatching because they neither lay eggs nor are economically viable for fattening. Omegga’s solution makes it possible to determine the sex while still in the egg – non-invasively, integrated into industrial incubation processes and already in use in live operations with initial customers.
Capital for scaling and platform development
Alongside capital, Capnamic and IQ Capital contribute in particular their experience in building technology-driven growth companies. “With Omegga, a platform technology is emerging with the potential to fundamentally transform several industries at once. The team combines scientific depth with entrepreneurial pragmatism – a rare combination,” says Christian Knott, Managing Partner at Capnamic.
