Laurie is a partner in our London banking team and heads up our leveraged finance practice, advising credit funds, clearing banks, sponsors and corporate borrowers on financing for buyouts and event-driven financings in the mid-market. Although his primary focus is the leveraged market, Laurie has in-depth experience of the full spectrum of financing options, from investment grade to distressed debt.
Laurie's practice is sector-agnostic, as he advises his clients across all sectors, but most recently he has advised on multiple deals in the healthcare, software, unified comms, media and education sectors.
Helping you succeed in tomorrow's world
I provide my clients with a partner-led service, always being available and responsive. It's an approach that my clients deserve and which the nature of the mid-market increasingly demands.
I am proud to be supported by a team of highly skilled, specialist associates, with up-to-date knowledge of what is 'market'. We combine magic circle training and excellence with mid-market commerciality, to execute deals in a smooth, time-efficient and cost-effective manner.
I have experience in the full range of mid-market transactions, including bank club/syndicated, super senior/unitranche, FO/LO, senior/mezzanine/second lien, holdco PIK and stressed/distressed transactions.
Outside of transactions, I am chair of governors at my local primary school and am actively involved in the firm's social mobility programme.
I was impressed by their strength in depth and their ability to really take charge of the transaction. A great result for us, and we look forward to working with the OC team on future transactions. (Credit fund client, September 2020).
