Simon Beswick, International CEO of Osborne Clarke, has been presented with an exceptional achievement award at the 15th annual MPF Management Excellence Awards.

Before focusing on growing Osborne Clarke into an international legal practice, Simon was UK Managing Partner from 2003 until 2014. During this time, Simon oversaw the firm’s recovery from the 2001 tech crash, steered it successfully through the 2008 recession and introduced a successful sector-first strategy which is still in use today.

At the end of his term as Managing Partner, Simon became International CEO, overseeing a period of rapid and successful international expansion with office openings in Belgium, France, The Netherlands, New York, Spain and San Francisco. Most recently, Osborne Clarke has entered Asia with a formal Association with Koh Vass & Co in Hong Kong and OC Queen Street in Singapore.

Simon’s citation said:

“This year’s award goes to an individual whose vision has transformed a regional law firm into one of the UK’s top performing firms. Even more impressively, he has recently turned his attention beyond the UK and transformed the firm again – into a rapidly expanding international player. Perhaps most impressively, he has achieved this, alongside a host of other innovations, without diluting the firm’s culture.”

Simon commented:

“It is a great honour to win this award, especially considering the great names that have received it in previous years. Of course, growing a fantastic law firm is a team effort and this award also recognises the great leadership teams I’ve worked with over the years as well as the many hundreds of talented lawyers and business support professionals who have played a part in making Osborne Clarke such a huge success.”
