Torben studied law at the University of Münster and the Thomas Cooley Law school at Western Michigan University. After his first state exam, he worked for a long time in an international law firm specialising in labour and employment law. During his legal traineeship, he worked for an international American law firm and a renowned Munich car manufacturer.
