Shilun is an Associate at Osborne Clarke’s Singapore Office with years of experience in the banking and finance space, specialising in equity capital markets and derivatives documentation.
He has spent years as an in-house counsel in the equity global markets team of a leading investment bank. His expertise encompasses the negotiation and drafting of documentation in areas such as prime brokerage, exchange-traded funds, over-the-counter derivatives and initial public offerings. He is proficient with a wide range of corporate documents, such as NDAs, vendor agreements, master services agreements and product supply agreements. He has also participated actively in due diligence and legal queries relating to banking / anti-money laundering regulations, as well as corporate governance matters such as the drafting of board resolutions and meeting minutes.
He also has significant experience with international arbitration and disputes management. He previously represented key stakeholders in several high profile international commercial disputes and investor-state arbitrations. Specifically in the energy and commodities sector, he was involved in two price review arbitrations with claims amounting to over a billion US dollars.
Shilun graduated with a Bachelor of Laws from the National University of Singapore. He was awarded the Singapore Mediation Centre Prize and Peacemakers’ Prize in Mediation for being the overall top student in the Mediation module. He participated actively in moots and was in the Top 16 for Best Overall Oralist Team for the 15th Willem C Vis East Moot.
