He is recognised in Chambers for his “responsive and commercial” approach and demonstrates this, in particular, when working with clients subject to sector-specific regulation in addition to general UK competition law.
“His commercial mindset and understanding of business dynamics is seamless. He offers first-class advice and is always available and super friendly.”– Chambers 2022
Marc has acted for businesses subject to investigation by the UK competition authorities, supporting clients at every stage from dawn raids through to successful appeals. He has also worked on secondment at the CMA’s policy team and was responsible for developing policy and drafting guidance for the current UK competition regime. Accordingly, Marc is particularly well placed to guide clients through the latest UK competition rules, including the implications of the UK's exit from the EU.
Marc has a particular expertise in international state aid, anti-dumping and anti-subsidy regulations and has advised many public and private sector clients in relation to projects which involve public investment. He regularly helps clients to handle complaints and enquiries from the European Commission, the WTO and UK central government (including BEIS, MHCLG and DfT). Marc is an active member of the UK State Aid Law Association.
He has been a Partner at Osborne Clarke since May 2017. In 2019, Marc was awarded the International Law Office's Client Choice Award for Competition & Antitrust.
