Greg Leyshon
Greg Leyshon is a partner at Osborne Clarke's London office, leading a growing group of expert Corporate lawyers.
He is co-chair of the International Corporate Group and also the International Transactions Group, alongside Björn Hurten. He was formerly head of the UK Business Transactions Group, and previously head of Markets (i.e. Sector Strategy).
Greg has built invaluable knowledge during his career across private equity, commercial practice and corporate knowledge, which makes him a distinguished asset to his clients. Many of his client relationships span more than a decade, which has allowed him to cultivate a renowned knowledge and commitment to their businesses, markets and sectors. He leads a senior-led, relationship-driven practice aligned with his clients' strategic objectives.
His work is enriched by the variety of his experience. Having sat both investment-side and company side of Private Equity deals, as well as sitting on international and executive boards, he knows exactly what’s happening on the ‘other side of the table’, applying this knowledge to his clients’ advantage.

Clients include Focus Group (Greg led on the $1 billion secondary PE transaction for Focus, supported by HG Capital), 4Com (Greg led on the merger of 4Com and Daisy Group and advised the founder of 4Com on the subsequent merger of Daisy and VMO2), SCG Group and LDC.
He has been recognised by numerous industry bodies including winning The Business Magazine Awards Lawyer of the Year prize in 2023. He is consistently top ranked by Chambers, he has been included in the Legal 500 Hall of Fame and is valued for his client support and innovation.

Advised the founders of Finantix Group (FinTech business) on a complex deal with US-based private equity house, Motive Partners. The business spans seven jurisdictions.
Advised Focus Group, a leading UK provider of communications and IT solutions, and its shareholders and management team, on a significant minority investment from Bowmark.
Advised fintech business IDScan on its £45m sale to GB Group Plc.
Advised on the £72m merger of Snell & Wilcox and Pro-Bel, two leading providers of technology to the international broadcasting market.
Advised on the tax on various LDC deals including the management buyout of United House.
Acted for the shareholders on the sale of Leasedrive to a Newco backed by HgCapital and its subsequent merger with Zenith.
Advised the shareholders of Millgate Homes on its merger with Countryside, backed by US VC Oaktree Capital.
Advised the shareholders of Precise Media Holdings Limited (including Phoenix Equity Partners), a leading provider of media monitoring, insight and analysis services, on the sale of a majority stake to WPP’s research arm Kantar.
Advised the shareholders of Shires Holdings Limited on the sale of advanced lighting specialist JCC Lighting to US electrical manufacturer Leviton.
Advised Rockhopper on the £39m buy out of the online magazine publisher, Imagine Publishing Group.
Advised a pan-European telecommunications group on the sale of its UK and Irish subsidiaries by way of an insolvency process in conjunction with the solvent sale of its European subsidiaries.
