Osborne Clarke advises Shaw Gibbs on three strategic growth transactions

Published on 5th May 2026

International legal practice Osborne Clarke has advised leading accountancy and business advisory group Shaw Gibbs on the integration of Woodward Hale into the Shaw Gibbs Group, a new strategic partnership with Irish professional services firm Crowleys DFK, and the acquisition of HR consultancy Reality HR.

These transactions will support Shaw Gibbs’ ambitious growth strategy, to expand both its geographic reach and the breadth of its advisory services.

We are pleased to have supported Shaw Gibbs and worked alongside Apiary Capital on three more strategically important transactions, which completed within a five month period. We were able to demonstrate the depth of our Shaw Gibbs client team by working on the transactions in parallel.   The deals are key examples of Osborne Clarke's multi-disciplinary capabilities and  expertise in the professional services sector.

 Rob Hayes, Partner, Osborne Clarke.

It was great to be supported by the Osborne Clarke team on these three strategic transactions for the Shaw Gibbs group.  It was important for us to be supported by a legal team with resources to advise on three deals within a short space of time and who are familiar with our structure and how we work. The Osborne Clarke team has once again provided pragmatic and commercial advice, and has demonstrated its knowledge and expertise in the accountancy and business services sector.

Peter O'Connell, CEO of Shaw Gibbs.

The multi-disciplinary Osborne Clarke team was led by partner Rob Hayes (Corporate) with support from corporate legal director Lesley Olsen, associate Matt Mayes and associate Tim Rouse. Tax advice was given by associate director Jonny Squires, employment advice was given by associate director Natasha Burbidge, regulatory advice was given by legal director Clare Burman and banking advice was given by partner James Hunt, associate director Jon Dodds and associate Saskia Zant-Boer.  The team also worked alongside Beauchamps LLP as Irish legal advisers to Shaw Gibbs.
