Osborne Clarke has advised the shareholders of the e-learning platform Masterplan on its acquisition by the Amadeus Fire Group, one of Germany’s leading providers of personnel services and professional training and development.
Masterplan combines high-quality video courses with intuitive software that uses features such as personalised learning paths and an AI coach to boost motivation. The Berlin-based tech company operates on the basis of a software-as-a-service (SaaS) model with recurring subscription revenues that integrates seamlessly into existing HR and learning systems. Its course offering comprises more than 11,000 learning elements on topics such as digitalisation, leadership and soft skills, in more than 26 languages.
The Amadeus Fire Group, one of the leading providers of personnel services and professional development in Germany, focuses on the placement of specialised professionals and executives as well as on initial and further training in the commercial and IT sectors. With the acquisition of Masterplan, the group is strengthening its position in the dynamically growing market for digital B2B training.
“We are expanding our training portfolio with a scalable SaaS platform and laying the foundation for a high-growth model in the B2B segment,” said Robert von Wülfing, CEO of Amadeus Fire Group.
“This is an ideal partnership for us,” said Stefan Peukert, Managing Director and Co-Founder of Masterplan. “Together with Amadeus Fire, we are combining technology, sales strength and market access to build a European EdTech platform.”
The Osborne Clarke team advising the shareholders of Masterplan, led by Maximilian Vocke and Robin Eyben, consisted of Robert Marx, Vanessa Petre Linbenciuc (all Corporate/Transactions), Ann-Kristin Lochmann (Tax) and Dr Florian Reiling (Intellectual Property).
