Osborne Clarke advises Queen's Park Equity on its partnership with legal services firm Canford Law

Published on 8th January 2026

International legal practice Osborne Clarke has advised private equity firm Queen's Park Equity (QPE) on its management buy-out of Canford Law Ltd (Canford Law), a multi-discipline legal practice specialising in insurance and commercial litigation.

Following the investment, CEO and founder David Nash and the existing management team will remain in place, retaining a significant equity stake. QPE's investment will provide capital and strategic support to accelerate organic growth and invest in talent and technology.

The transaction is the second MBO of a legal services firm that the Osborne Clarke Private Equity team has advised on in as many months, reflecting the growing interest of private equity in the legal services sector.

"We are grateful to Seamus and the Osborne Clarke team for their exceptional support throughout this complex transaction. Their deep expertise and highly commercial, pragmatic approach were critical in structuring an investment that positions the business for its next phase of growth. Osborne Clarke navigated the legal and regulatory complexities with clarity and efficiency, and their partnership and insight were enormously value-additive."

- Alex McRae, Investing, Queen's Park Equity

"We are delighted to have advised Queen’s Park Equity on this strategically important investment. Structuring an investment into a regulated legal practice presents a unique set of legal, regulatory and commercial complexities, and the combination of these factors made this one of the most interesting transactions that I have had the opportunity to work on. We are excited to see the next phase of growth for Canford Law as part of its partnership with QPE."
