Niels is an associate in the Amsterdam corporate team, focused on mid-market private M&A transactions in the Tech, Media & Comms (TMC) and Real Estate sectors.
He is dedicated to building relationships with our clients and gaining in-depth knowledge about their businesses and the markets they act in. Particularly keen on advising on joint ventures, corporate governance, acquisitions and (private) equity investments. He also assists clients with their general day-to-day company law and corporate governance matters.
Niels joined Osborne Clarke six months after the Amsterdam office was set up, after obtaining his master’s degree from Utrecht University. His studies focused on international trade law, corporate transactions and general (commercial) contracting law.
Before joining Osborne Clarke, Niels worked for several Dutch law firms as legal intern.
Niels has registered the following principal and secondary legal practice areas in the Netherlands Bar’s register of legal practice areas (rechtsgebiedenregister):
– Principal: Corporate law.
– Secondary: Directors’ and officers’ liability; mergers and acquisitions; companies; associations and foundations.
Based on this registration, he is required to obtain ten training credits per calendar year in each registered principal legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar.

With the acquisition, Gemnasium's robust security scanning functionality is integrated natively into GitLab’s CI/CD pipelines, allowing businesses to develop and iterate software faster without sacrificing a strong security posture.
Advised HH Global, an award winning leading independent marketing execution partner to global brands in over 40 countries employing over 850 employees, with its acquisition of PostNL Print Management, the print management arm of the Dutch postal and logistic solutions provider PostNL, to help support HH Global’s growth in the Netherlands.
Represented Gilde Healthcare and key management (sellers) in the auction sale of ViroClinics Biosciences B.V. to Parcom Capital, a leading mid-market private equity firm in the Benelux, as well key management in their continuing investment in ViroClinics post-closing.

Advised the (founder-)shareholders of Nmbrs®, a Dutch company employing 120 supplying HR and payroll SaaS to around 2,000 customers, in their sale to Visma Group, a leading European supplier of business-critical software with HQ in Norway.
Acted for Ebiquity, the UK-based marketing and media consultancy company listed on the LSE, with its acquisition of Digital Decisions, a Dutch digital media monitoring and optimisation service company.
Advised MediaMonks on a continuing bases on multiple acquisitions since 2015, including their most recent Dutch acquisition of Amsterdam-based film studio Caramel Pictures, world’s leading food and liquid’s film studio (read more), and the merger with IMA Agency, the Dutch (influencer) marketing agency (read more).
