Equal pay compliance in Germany: Prepare now
Germany was required to transpose the EU Pay Transparency Directive (EPT Directive) into national law by 7 June 2026 – but no implementing legislation has been enacted to date. This creates legal uncertainty. But it also creates a window of opportunity that employers should use right now: both to meet the requirements already in force and to prepare in good time for the significantly more extensive – and more strictly enforced – new obligations ahead.
Join our webinar on 10 September 2026 for a concise overview and practical guidance covering:
What applies now: No direct effect for employers in the private sector, but the continued application of the existing Pay Transparency Act (EntgTranspG) and directive-compliant interpretation where discretion exists.
What is coming: Pay transparency obligations in recruitment and during employment, pay gap analysis and reporting duties, along with a reversal of the burden of proof in relation to pay information and equal pay claims.
Practical insights: What are the most important aspects when initiating an analysis under the EPT Directive, assess risks and minimise them? We share our experience.
Use this opportunity to future-proof your HR practice and minimise your compliance and financial exposure.
