International law firm Osborne Clarke has advised Gemserv, a leading UK professional services company on its acquisition by the Talan Group ("Talan"), an international consulting group in innovation and transformation.

The Osborne Clarke team advising on this deal was led by Partner Pippa Byrne (Private Equity), with Associate Directors Seamus McKimm (Private Equity),  Rob Thomas (Tax) and Lara Flynn (Employment), Senior Associate Lottie Brewster (Private Equity) and Trainee Solicitor Iman Virji.

Gemserv is a professional services business, working with its clients to tackle environmental challenges, improve the way markets work, utilise digital transformation and ensure the protection and ethical use of data.

By joining the Talan Group, Gemserv is continuing to position itself as a leader in the energy and digital transitions market and is expanding its capabilities to support client needs. The acquisition will double the size of Talan's current UK operations and allow both businesses to boost growth in the areas of the clean energy transition, cyber security, and wider innovation and transformation through technology.

Osborne Clarke’s Private Equity team is considered a go-to practice for many companies in the technology and financial sectors, working with clients ranging from global businesses to fast-growth start-ups and market challengers. The team advises at every stage of company development across all corporate issues, from equity and debt fundraisings to M&A, IPOs and JVs.
