Lawyers at international legal practice Osborne Clarke in Reading have advised BGF on its investment in technology service provider PMC.
Founded in 2001, PMC is based in Abingdon near Oxford and provides consulting, professional services, digital engineering and managed services to over 120 retail, commerce and technology customers across 24 countries.
The business is investing in a new global centre of excellence in Vadodara in India, which will expand PMC’s team to more than 1,000 around the world.
The minority investment deal was led by Duncan Wade and Harry Kernick, investors in BGF’s Reading team, who will both support the PMC board and the wider leadership team's growth strategy.
“We’re delighted to have worked with the BGF team in Reading on another investment in the Thames Valley’s thriving tech sector. This transaction serves to illustrate the depth of professional advisory expertise in the area, with Shoosmiths’ Reading office acting for PMC, along with FRP as corporate finance advisors."
The Osborne Clarke team that advised on the deal was led by Reading-based corporate partner Rob Hayes, assisted by associate director Robert Pook, along with Chris Flach, Oliver Wilson, Tim Rouse and Ruairi McLoughlin McGrath, also from the corporate team.
Mathew Oliver and Rohesia Vince-Brown (corporate tax), Michael Carter and Stuart Rose (incentives), Rebecca Scott and Sarah Yeo (banking), Siobhan Murphy and Sophie Powell (employment) and Ian Solomon and Shivali Sharma (commercial) also worked on the transaction.
Osborne Clarke also worked with BTG Advaya to advise on Indian aspects of the deal, working with Mansi Singh.
“As always it was a pleasure to work with Osborne Clarke. The team’s expertise and commercial approach were crucial in helping us to navigate the process efficiently and with confidence. We are delighted to be backing one of the Thames Valley’s standout growth businesses and are grateful to Rob Hayes and the team at Osborne Clarke for their fantastic support throughout.”
BGF was a natural choice for us as we take this next step in our growth journey. We look forward to working with their team closely as we continue our global expansion and further develop our services for our growing commerce customer base.”
