International Women’s Day (IWD) is marked annually on 8 March, as a celebration of social, economic, cultural, academic and political achievements of women across the world. It's also a day on which we can reflect on progress made, and to acknowledge acts of courage and determination, of women who have played an extraordinary role in the history of their countries and communities. This year's IWD theme is "Choose to Challenge", a call for action to challenge and call out gender bias and inequality, and to help create an inclusive world more generally.

To mark the day Osborne Clarke is celebrating with a programme of virtual events which include a performance by four female musicians and a keynote speech by Dr Kamel Hothi OBE. The events are accessible across all of our offices giving us the opportunity to celebrate in a truly international way.

In addition to our events, we are shining a spotlight on women from different parts of our business. We asked our colleagues why they choose to challenge -  watch their responses in the video.
