Dr. Daniel Walter is a partner in the Banking & Capital Markets practice group at Osborne Clarke, Germany.
The focus of his work is the regulatory advice of banks and other payment service providers, owners of payment schemes as well as financial services institutions and insurance companies. In particular, Daniel advises on license applications of payment institutions, regulatory obligations of banks, e-money issuers and payment institutions in connection with existing as well as new banking and payment products, cooperation and outsourcing agreements between regulated entities and outsourcing entities or Fintech entities.
He also advises on acquiring and other framework payment services agreements amongst payment service providers and their customers, in particular e-commerce shops, and on anti-money laundering law.
In addition, he advises domestic and international lenders and borrowers in connection with loan facilities.
Among his clients are German and other European banks and payment services institutions as well as Fintech companies and Start-Up companies.
Daniel is continuously publishing on regulatory issues and is co-author in a legal commentary on payment services supervisory law published by the publishing company Beck. He studied in Marburg and Aarhus, Denmark. He began to work as a lawyer in 2010 in an international law firm in Düsseldorf. In 2011 he joined Osborne Clarke as an associate and since January 2019 as a partner.
