Osborne Clarke has advised listed Swedish gaming company Thunderful Group on its acquisition of games developer Studio Fizbin via Thunderful's German subsidiary Headup Games.

Studio Fizbin was founded in 2011 and has two studios in Ludwigsburg and Berlin. The developer is known for its The Inner World series, Minute of Islands and Say! No More. Studio Fizbin is currently working on the action game Project Kokidon, which is scheduled for completion by the end of 2024.

The cooperation between Studio Fizbin and Headup Games goes back to the beginnings of the studio – already during the first cooperation in 2014, the two companies were able to secure the main prize as Best German Game at the German Computer Game Award 2014. Now the 20-strong Studio Fizbin team will continue to develop its current projects as part of the Thunderful Group; the takeover includes the acquisition of all the developer's intellectual property rights. Management will remain unchanged for the time being.

The team advising Thunderful Group and Headup Games, led by Konstantin Ewald, consisted of Jonathan Platz (both Games/IP/IT), Nicolas Gabrysch, Victor Robertz (both Corporate), Dr Viktoria Winstel, Karin Sültrop (both Labour Law), Dr Daniel Walter, Adriana Wolf (both Regulatory/Banking) and Christian von Bühler (Data Protection).

In addition, the two companies were advised by the Swedish law firm Setterwalls AB.

The founders of Studio Fizbin were represented by Brehm & v. Moers (Kai Bodensiek) in the takeover.
