The Lawyer General Counsel Strategy Summit 2026
Osborne Clarke is proud to be the headline sponsor of The Lawyer General Counsel Strategy Summit 2026, which brings together general counsel and senior in house leaders to explore what comes next for the legal function.
This year's Strategy Summit will focus on 'The Future GC' and how GCs are leading their organisations through times of unprecedented and volatile change.
If you would like to connect in advance of the Summit to discuss the themes on the agenda or arrange a meeting while you’re there, please get in touch with our team in attendance or your usual Osborne Clarke contact.
We are looking forward to leading the following sessions:
Plenary Session: The Future GC
The legal industry is undergoing profound change. Geopolitical turbulence, the rapid rise of AI and expanding expectations from boards, regulators and stakeholders mean the role of the GC, and their teams, is evolving faster than ever.
What will a great GC look like in five years’ time and what practical steps can you take now to get there?
In this forward-looking plenary, we will explore:
- How the GC role is likely to be defined in the future
- The GC’s evolving role in enabling and influencing ethical decision-making
- How technology will reshape the work of the legal function and the skills your team will need
- Practical steps GCs can take today to develop the “future GC”, both personally and within their teams
Roundtable Session: Playing to your strengths in a crisis
Crisis management is the ultimate team game, demanding different skills, perspectives and personalities under intense pressure.
In this highly interactive roundtable, you will take part in a simulated crisis scenario. Each participant will assume a role in a live crisis meeting where several high‑impact decisions must be made in real time.
We will then debrief together to:
- Reflect on how decisions were made by the group
- Explore different crisis “styles” and how they affect outcomes
- Identify how GCs can play to their strengths and position themselves as the most valuable player (MVP) in a crisis
The session is designed to be practical and candid, giving you a safe space to test your approach, learn from peers and refine how you show up when it matters most.
