Osborne Clarke supports The Platforms Association on launch of Transfers Charter aimed at improving customers' investment transfer experience

Published on 17 September 2026

International legal practice Osborne Clarke has supported The Platforms Association on the development and launch of its new Transfers Charter, a major industry initiative designed to deliver faster, more efficient and transparent transfer experiences for retail investment customers and advisers.

The Transfers Charter has been developed in collaboration with platform providers and other industry stakeholders, with Osborne Clarke providing legal input on the framework for implementing the Charter commitments across ISA, pension and general investment account transfers between platforms. The Charter is backed by many of the UK’s leading investment platforms and technology providers.

The Charter marks an important milestone in improving customer experience when transferring investment products between different providers. It is an excellent example of an industry proactively coming to grips with an issue and putting in place an innovative solution that supports the regulator's objectives.
