Osborne Clarke has advised VAK Holding B.V. on the acquisition of Startselect, a European digital gifts and playing cards company to Recharge, a leading player in the prepaid payments industry. With the acquisition, Recharge begins consolidation of the prepaid payments market and it expects to make more acquisitions in the coming period.

Recharge is a market leader in online prepaid payments. The company offers more than 16,000 digital vouchers and prepaid solutions, including gift cards, gaming cards, prepaid cash cards and cell phone top-ups. The company operates in more than 180 markets worldwide. 

The acquired company Startselect has a long track record of providing a high-quality digital marketplace for gamers with a wide range of gaming products. The acquisition of Startselect strengthens Recharge's diversified prepaid product offering and now adds Startselect's strong position in the gaming card market.
