Osborne Clarke advises the shareholders of VION AI GmbH on sale to Trifork Group AG

Osborne Clarke has provided legal advice to the shareholders of VION AI GmbH on the sale of all their shares to Trifork Group AG. The Switzerland-based technology group, which is listed on Nasdaq Copenhagen, is strengthening its aviation business through the acquisition and expanding its range of real-time solutions for airline and airport operations.

VION AI specialises in capturing and structuring real-time data from frontline aviation operations, in particular around aircraft turnaround processes. Using AI-powered edge solutions, ground processes – which are often highly intransparent – are made visible, converted into structured data and leveraged for operational decision-making.

By integrating VION AI’s technology into Trifork’s iFly4 platform, airlines and airports gain a significantly enhanced, near-real-time view of their ground and turnaround processes. This makes it possible to identify operational irregularities at an earlier stage, reduce complexity, cut costs and sustainably improve punctuality and service quality for passengers. At the same time, combining Trifork’s platform and data capabilities with VION AI’s AI expertise creates the basis for further data-driven innovation in the aviation sector.

The acquisition takes place against a backdrop of increasing cost pressure and efficiency expectations on airlines, growing operational complexity in air traffic and rapidly rising requirements regarding transparency, resilience and passenger experience. In this market environment, the combination is intended to help provide airlines and airports worldwide with a powerful tool for the proactive management of their operations.

“We are incredibly excited to join forces with Trifork. From day one, we shared a vision of making frontline operations visible and actionable in real time. Trifork’s strong platform, solid industry reach in our core target group, and commitment to modern technology provide the perfect environment to scale our solution and deliver meaningful impact to airlines and airports globally,” says Michael Busch, CEO of VION AI.
