Osborne Clarke advised cannabis start-up Sanity Group in a financing in which, among others, the US rapper and music producer Will.i.am, TV presenter Klaas Heufer-Umlauf and the soccer world champion Mario Götze invested in the Berlin based company. In total, the financing amounts to just under EUR 4 million.

Other new investors in Sanity Group under the leadership of Finn Hänsel and Fabian Friede are ex-soccer player Dennis Aogo, sports expert Jonas Hummels, German top model Stefanie Giesinger and Bitburger Ventures. Existing investors include Calyx Capital, Atlantic Food Labs, Cherry Ventures, HV Capital, TQ Ventures and various business angels. The founders Finn Hänsel and Fabian Friede want to gradually introduce Sanity Group’s brands into other European markets. The Vaay brand is about to be launched with the support of music producer and “The Voice UK” judge Will.i.am. in the UK.

Sanity Group, founded in 2018, aims to become Europe's leading cannabis company. The products offered are medical cannabis as well as cosmetic and wellness products based on cannabinoids (CBD). With over 80 employees, the Sanity Group has its company headquarters in Berlin-Mitte, where it also sells its over-the-counter products in its own shop. The Osborne Clarke team led by Robin Eyben consisted of Maximilian Vocke und Dana Alpar (alle Corporate/Venture Capital).
