International legal practice Osborne Clarke has advised the shareholders of Cherwell Laboratories Limited on the sale of the company to the AnalytiChem group. 

Cherwell, based in Bicester, Oxfordshire, is a leading provider of cleanroom microbiology solutions to customers in pharmaceutical and related industries across the UK and internationally.  Andy Whittard, whose father founded Cherwell in 1971, will continue to lead the company as Managing Director.  AnalytiChem, head-quartered in Germany and backed by US private equity investor Battery Ventures, is a group of life sciences companies providing laboratories around the world with analytical chemicals, certified reference materials and laboratory equipment.
