Osborne Clarke advises Compass Group on Feedr acquisition

Written on 10 June 2020

International legal practice Osborne Clarke has advised Compass Group UK and Ireland, part of the publicly listed Compass Group PLC, on its acquisition of Feedr.

Compass is a leading foodservice business specialising in providing food and a range of support services across the core sectors of Business & Industry, Healthcare & Seniors, Education, Defence, Offshore & Remote and Sports & Leisure with a global reach of approximately 45 countries.

Established in 2016, Feedr is a food technology start-up that delivers personalised meals to office workers as an alternative to in-house canteens. Feedr’s focus on nutrition and health means employees can use the app to track and personalise their daily eating, helping them make healthier choices and giving them a better picture of nutrition from the meals they consume at their workplace.

Compass plans to utilise Feedr’s software across its portfolio of corporate clients, with further potential applications of the technology in education and healthcare sectors. Feedr’s mobile ordering and pre-pay technology will enable Compass to transform the way people interact with on-site restaurants, so that employees can browse menus, pay and collect more flexibly, enhancing their food at work experience.

The Osborne Clarke team advising Compass was led by Partner Tom Try (Corporate) and Associate Josephine Healy (Corporate) and included Partner Michael Carter (Incentives) and Associate Director Dan Sharman (Incentives).

Osborne Clarke has a market-leading international venture capital and M&A practice and is widely recognised as a leading European law firm for companies operating in the technology, media and communication sectors.
