Osborne Clarke advises redalpine on EUR 10.3 million Pre-Seed financing round of Lyceum

Osborne Clarke has advised redalpine on its investment in the cloud startup Lyceum as part of a EUR 10.3 million Pre-Seed financing round.

Innovations require massive compute power. However, in Europe, this is primarily provided by cloud providers from the US. Lyceum, founded by Magnus Grunewald and Maximilian Niroomand, aims to offer European companies and developers a sovereign alternative. With transparent pricing, a simple infrastructure, one-click GPU deployment, and intelligent scheduling, Lyceum is building Europe's first user-centric GPU cloud.

Just a few months after its founding, the company has now successfully completed a Pre-Seed funding round of EUR 10.3 million. The round was led by redalpine; other investors included 10x Founders and selected industry leaders such as Elias Schneider (Codesphere) and Philipp Freise (KKR). With the newly acquired capital, Lyceum intends to redefine cloud infrastructure in Europe and create a sovereign alternative to the dominant US providers.

Lyceum is building the sovereign European answer to AI compute. We’re deeply impressed by the team’s bold vision, relentless ambition, and exceptional speed of execution,” says Sebastian Becker, General Partner at redalpine.

The team that advised redalpine, led by Maximilian Vocke, consisted of Paul Rhode (both Corporate / Transactions) and Jens Wrede (Tax).
