Omar acts for lenders, sponsors and borrowers on bilateral and syndicated project finance, M&A finance and structured finance transactions generally.
He has a particular focus on the debt financing of renewable energy generation projects, social accommodation project and transport infrastructure projects. He has been an active player in the UK renewable energy financing market since its inception, with a particular reputation for the efficient transaction of complex long-term portfolio financings.
As head of our infrastructure finance group, it is his role to make sure Osborne Clarke is always meeting clients’ expectations, delivering a fantastic service and a highly technical level of support in a pragmatic and commercial manner.
Omar qualified at Osborne Clarke in 1995 and has been a partner since 2001. He and his team have a reputation as people to do business with, and the 2019 Edition of Chambers and Partners describes Omar as “very quick to turn things around and always available during a transaction for any questions that arise,” adding that “his approach is commercial; as problems arose he helped us to flexibly work around issues.”.
