Marialaura has accrued wide-ranging experience advising Italian and foreign businesses in their sales activities as well as their communication and marketing strategies.

She is a member of the Retail & Consumer team in Italy and specialises in intellectual property and data protection, as well as in advertising, both traditional and digital.

She is highly experienced in advising on trademarks, designs, models and knowhow, in advertising and consumer protection. Her practice covers both advisory and contentious work, assisting clients in disputes before the ordinary court and the competent administrative authorities.

She advises throughout all phases of contractual negotiations, both on legal and operational aspects, with particular regards to licence, franchising and sponsorship agreements.

Her knowledge is also regularly applied within the ambit of the Life Sciences & Healthcare sector.

She is a member of IAPP (International Association of Privacy Professionals) and of the Italian Association of Data Protection Officers. UNI Certification: Data Protection Officer.

Marialaura is admitted to appear before the Italian Supreme Court.

Advised the client, an Italian music label on the negotiation of the recording and publishing agreements for the album “Mina Fossati”, and the licence agreement with R&C Produzioni for the use of a song from the new album in the film “La dea fortuna”.

Advised this well known cosmetics company in preparing a defence strategy in the context of an EU-wide trademark opposition procedure brought by a Spanish cosmetics producer against the client’s ‘Veralab’ trademark.

Advised in negotiating and drafting licence agreements relating to patents and trade secrets as part of the establishment of a new company in the e-mobility sector.

Advised on the data processing issues arising under new protocols affecting employee data, which were adopted in the wake of the Covid-19 emergency, with a special focus on the collection of data by means of a thermo-scanner.
