Dr Jens Schefzig
Dr Jens Schefzig advises on AI and data law. He is co-head of our global artificial intelligence client team and has over a decade of experience in helping his clients to create value from their data and utilise AI.
Jens is location head of our Hamburg office. He advises his clients on all aspects of the use of data and AI, with a particular focus on regulatory compliance (AI Act, GDPR, Data Act). His expertise encompasses AI systems, AI models, data analyses, data supply chains, rights in data and access to data (big data, data trade and Industry 4.0), the establishment of governance systems and individual compliance measures and processes, as well as the drafting and negotiation of related contracts. Additionally, he specialises in negotiations with authorities and litigation in these areas. Jens and his team also coordinate international AI- and data-related projects across Osborne Clarke's practice groups.

Jens is a prolific author and thought leader in the field of AI and data law. He regularly publishes specialist articles and book chapters on artificial intelligence, data regulation and emerging technology. He co-publishes one of the leading German commentaries on the AI Act. He is a frequent speaker at conferences and industry events, where he presents on the legal and regulatory challenges surrounding AI adoption and data governance.
