Carlos is a dual-qualified lawyer who advises on commercial matters with particular focus on the Life Sciences and Healthcare sector. He also advises the firm’s Spanish clients on general commercial matters.

Carlos is a member of the Life Sciences & Healthcare team in Italy. He works closely with international pharmaceutical, biotech and healthcare companies.

He advises on drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, clinical studies and clinical research agreements, anti-bribery issues, and in regulatory compliance programmes. He has also accrued significant experience in assisting clients in relation to their participation in public tenders, direct & indirect sponsorships, research grants & donations, hiring services agreements with healthcare professionals, through to patient support programmes and the development of medtech and digital platforms.

Carlos’s corporate work has included involvement in several strategic M&A transactions for multinational companies and he also advises on the commercial contracting, both national and international, and in the establishment of foreign subsidiaries in Italy, Spain & South America. Many of these clients are entities within major international groups, and thanks to his education and experience, Carlos is able to advise them directly in their own languages. Equally, due to his deep understanding of their cultures and legal systems, he can offer high-quality multidisciplinary services, adapted to their specific needs.

Carlos is also actively involved with the legal institutions of both Italy and Spain, and regularly publishes in the journal of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Milan on investment opportunities and developments in legislation.
