Main measures provided for by Royal Decree-Law 8/2020, of 17 March, on urgent extraordinary measures to deal with the economic and social impact of COVID-19

On 18 March 2020, Royal Decree-Law 8/2020 of 17 March, on urgent extraordinary measures to deal with the economic and social impact of COVID-19, entered into force. This regulation has been adopted by the Spanish government in the context of the state of alarm in which the country finds itself. These measures have legal implications for the employment field, the provision of essential public services, the real estate field, the telecommunications sector, consumers, the tax field, public contracts, private and public companies and foreign investments in Spain, among others.

These actions seek to mitigate the damage being caused by the health crisis and the temporary cessation of activity in many economic sectors.
