FinTech GC Community: The FCA's New Consumer Duty

The FinTech GC Community sessions are a series of roundtable events for the General Counsel, Heads of Legal and Heads of Compliance of FinTechs. Previous attendees have included senior members of the legal and compliance teams of many of the UK's leading FinTechs. 

The hour long sessions are run with small groups of select, senior in-house lawyers from FinTechs to encourage group discussion. Our aim is to create an environment where no question feels too silly to ask and attendees feel free to share how they are dealing with certain issues in their business.

An update on developments on the FCA's new consumer duty, one of the most significant proposed policy interventions from the FCA in recent times. We will look at what FinTechs should be doing to prepare for it and how they might tackle any issues thrown up by the new rules, including around suitability assessments, fair value, fee structures and the allocation of responsibility. The session will be led by an expert team who have significant experience of advising FinTechs at various stages of growth and across a range of products and services.
