International legal practice Osborne Clarke has advised SCG (Southern Communications Group), a technology‑led managed services provider, on a significant investment from Providence Equity Partners, a leading US private equity firm focussed on media, communications and education.
This transaction showcases Osborne Clarke’s strength in advising high‑growth technology and managed services businesses on complex private equity deals at scale. It underlines the firm’s TMT sector expertise, its track record in delivering larger cross‑border deals opposite major US private equity houses, and its ability to support clients through multiple stages of their private equity‑backed growth journeys.
SCG has grown rapidly over the past decade, both organically and through more than 30 acquisitions, building a differentiated platform that combines connectivity, cloud and managed IT services with proprietary technology solutions. The investment from Providence Equity Partners will enable SCG to accelerate its buy‑and‑build strategy, further expand its service offering and capture increasing demand for AI‑enabled and data‑rich managed services.
