International legal practice Osborne Clarke has advised AlbionVC and UCL Technology Fund on their investment in Gaussion, the London-based deep tech company pioneering energy intelligence technology for battery packs, as part of a $28m funding round. The round was co-led by AlbionVC and BGF, with co-investors including UCL Technology Fund, Autotech Ventures, DN Capital and Future Ventures.

Gaussion’s breakthrough technology uses an external magnetic field, combined with proprietary AI-enabled control software, to enable rapid charging and improved performance and lifespan of lithium-ion battery systems without changing battery chemistry or design. The company’s MagLiB™ magnetic PCB retrofit system and Aeon™ control chip and software platform are being deployed across automotive, aerospace, data centre and consumer electronics applications and evaluated across multiple commercial programmes globally.

This transaction sits right at the intersection of energy transition, AI infrastructure and mobility – areas where Osborne Clarke has a long-standing focus and deep sector expertise. Supporting AlbionVC and UCL Technology Fund on Gaussion’s latest funding round underlines our EC/VC team's capability with investments into transformative deep tech businesses.
