International legal practice Osborne Clarke has advised the majority shareholders of Chancellors Group, one of the UK’s leading independent Estate Agents, on the sale of the company to property services provider Leaders Romans Group.

Chancellors Group is a prominent name in the UK property market, offering a comprehensive suite of services, including residential sales, lettings, new homes, commercial, and land and development. With a strong presence across the Home Counties and beyond, Chancellors supports a wide range of clients, from first-time buyers and experienced investors to landlords and tenants.

The acquisition of Chancellors Group significantly expands LRG's reach in existing and new markets, fuelling its ongoing growth strategy. The group will be retaining the Chancellors brand due to its local strength in the areas in which it operates.

"We are very grateful to the Osborne Clarke team for all of their guidance, knowledge and expertise on the sale process. It felt like a complex transaction that had lots of moving parts, but we always felt assured having the OC team as our legal partner."

Ian Simpson, Director at Chancellors Group

Rob Hayes commented: "We were delighted to represent the principal shareholders on the sale of the business to LRG. Having worked with the directors for the past 25 years, it was fantastic to be able to support them on their exit. The Chancellors brand and reputation in the market place is a great endorsement of the board's hard work and strategic vision for the business throughout that time and beyond."

The Osborne Clarke team advising on this deal was led by Partner Rob Hayes, legal director Lesley Olsen, associate Chris Flach and trainee solicitor Chrisphina Wreh in Corporate; Partner Anika Chandra and associate Will Cashman in Incentives; Partner Mathew Oliver and associate Edward Aves in Tax; and Partner Danielle Kingdon in Employment.

Osborne Clarke's Corporate team is a go-to practice for companies in the professional services sector. Its clients range from global businesses to fast-growth start-ups and market challengers. The team advises at every stage of company development across all corporate issues, from equity and debt fundraisings to M&A, IPOs and JVs.
