International law firm Osborne Clarke has appointed Simon Moore as a partner in its Projects, Real Estate and Finance team. Simon will play a central role in expanding the firm’s major infrastructure and energy transition offering in the UK and internationally.

With a career spanning 30 years, Simon specialises in the development and financing of major infrastructure projects. He has extensive experience advising on PPP and project finance transactions in the UK, Middle East and Africa across the transport, infrastructure and renewable energy sectors. He has acted for sponsors, contractors, funds, lenders and governments on availability-based and merchant schemes in areas including rail, airports, ports, wastewater, power, healthcare, education, student accommodation, housing, roads, defence and solar energy.

Simon has held senior roles both in private practice and in-house, including serving as a General Counsel at investment company Mubadala and as a partner at Simmons & Simmons and Ashurst. Most recently, he held the position of senior consultant at Ashurst. Simon is already familiar with Osborne Clarke, having previously spent several years as a partner at the firm before leaving to take up a role in the Middle East.

With major infrastructure projects a core growth area for Osborne Clarke, Simon's international track record will further enhance the firm’s ability to support clients on complex, cross-border work/matters, while strengthening its position in key sectors such as infrastructure and energy and the energy transition. Simon will be based in Osborne Clarke's Bristol office.

Major infrastructure is a key growth area for our firm and Simon brings a rare combination of deep sector knowledge, international project delivery experience and in-house insight. His arrival significantly enhances our depth of senior expertise in projects, supports our plans to grow our share of complex mandates in the UK and internationally, and ensures we are well placed to support clients as the next wave of infrastructure opportunities comes to market.

It's an exciting time for the infrastructure sector, and Osborne Clarke has an excellent reputation for its work with major contractors, funds and sponsors. I’m looking forward to working with colleagues across the firm to help clients deliver complex infrastructure and energy projects, and to bringing my experience of international transactions  and legal technology to the firm as it continues to innovate in how it delivers its services.
