International legal practice Osborne Clarke has advised Vet’s Klinic, the state-of-the-art veterinary practice, on a £4 million growth capital investment from Mobeus.

From its pioneering practice in Swindon, Vet’s Klinic offers high quality pet care at flexible prices. Its distinctive customer experience combines: a glass-fronted treatment area; an industry-leading booking system; real-time video and photo updates to pets’ medical records; and a large-scale team of veterinary experts. As a result, since opening in 2012 it has become a “Super Klinic”; the largest single site, first opinion practice in Swindon.

The business is seeing strong, growing demand for its services, as pet ownership in the UK increased during the pandemic, with 3.2 million households adopting a pet since March 2020. The rise of pet parenting, where the pet is treated like one of the family, a recognition of the mental health benefits and an enduring shift to more flexible working patterns suggest this trend will continue.

To meet demand, Vet’s Klinic will use the funding to roll out a further four “Super Klinics” along the M4 corridor, creating a regional group of practices to deliver the same standout pet and client care.

The Osborne Clarke team consisted of Partner Simon Jones, Associate Director James Taylor, Senior Associate Jack Wellington and Associate Sara De Rinaldis from Osborne Clarke's Corporate team.

Osborne Clarke’s market-leading international venture and growth capital practice is widely recognized as a leading European law firm. The venture capital team is ranked tier one by The Legal 500 and has experts across London, the Thames Valley and Bristol. It has an outstanding track record advising start-ups, global market leaders, angel investors and institutional VC/growth capital investors on funding rounds, follow-on rounds, venture debt facilities, IPOs, trade sales and buy & build projects.
