Osborne Clarke has advised Heidelberg-based start-up paretos, a provider of an innovative decision intelligence platform for companies, in an extension of their seed financing round with a volume of around EUR 10 million.
To make fast and efficient decision-making in businesses using AI-based data-analysis as accessible and integrable as an email programme: that is the goal of paretos. Founded in 2020 by Fabian Rang and Thorsten Heilig, the start-up enables its customers to perform extensive data analyses without prior knowledge or the expertise of data science specialists. Thereby difficult decisions can be taken more easily and successfully with the help of algorithms. At the heart of the end-to-end platform is the AI optimization algorithm “Socrates”, which has been specially developed to handle highly complex models and whose performance outstrips even state-of-the-art algorithms from tech giants such as Facebook. By using artificial intelligence, reliable and sustainable business decisions can be made. The interaction between humans and platforms is the focus here in order to support decision-makers. This principle is called Decision Intelligence.
An efficient approach for companies in which investors obviously see potential. In the recent seed round extension, paretos raised around EUR 10 million. The Munich fund UVC Partners was the lead investor, while existing investor Lea Partners from Karlsruhe also participated. In addition, the Berlin VC fund Interface Capital of Niklas Jansen, founder of Blinkist, and Christian Reber, founder of Wunderlist and CEO of Pitch, joined the round. Ex-Vodafone CEO Hannes Ametsreiter joined the Heidelberg based tech start-up as a business angel. This round was preceded by seed funding of EUR 3.5 million in September 2021.
paretos was lead advised by Fabian Mimberg under the partner responsibility of Nicolas Gabrysch (both Corporate / Venture Capital).
