The international legal practice Osborne Clarke has advised Euregio+ and Redstone in the context of the pre‑seed financing round of the Swiss deep‑tech spin‑off Tethys Robotics – with a cross‑border team. The company has secured a total of EUR 3.5 million. The round was led by Redstone; participants include, among others, Euregio+, Alpine VC, as well as other co‑investors, including Zürcher Kantonalbank, ETH Foundation, Kickfund and Venture Kick.

Tethys Robotics – a spin‑off of ETH Zurich – is developing Tethys ONE, an autonomous underwater drone for safety‑critical deployments. The robot operates at depths of up to 300 metres and addresses demanding missions: inspections and maintenance in the offshore wind, oil and gas industries, the disposal of explosive ordnance remnants, as well as search‑and‑rescue operations under extreme conditions. The technology enables remote‑controlled or autonomous operations with high‑resolution 3D visualisation – for simplified navigation and automated data collection.

Tethys Robotics is already testing the solution with pilot customers from the offshore wind and energy sectors; more than 30 pilot projects have been launched. In addition, the company is working with the Swiss Army and the Swiss Drone and Robotics Centre (SDRC) and plans to deepen its cooperation with security authorities and international organisations in the area of explosive ordnance disposal. With the new capital, Tethys Robotics intends to accelerate the further development and scaling of Tethys ONE and drive the international roll‑out.

“With our technology, we aim to enable fully autonomous underwater inspections - from data capture to analysis. That way, we deliver precise, reproducible results without human risk; faster, safer, and more efficient than ever before. With the new funding, weʼll bring Tethys ONE into safety‑critical applications worldwide and set new standards in underwater inspectionˮ says Jonas Wüst, CEO & Co‑Founder of Tethys Robotics.

Euregio+ and Redstone were advised by a cross‑border Osborne Clarke team led by Giuliano Lanzavecchia, together with Martina Serbelloni (both Osborne Clarke Italy), and Maximilian Vocke and Dana Alpar (both Osborne Clarke Germany).
