Osborne Clarke advises Canford Law on bolt-on acquisition of PDC Law
Published on 24 September 2026
International legal practice Osborne Clarke has advised Canford Law Ltd (Canford Law) on its bolt-on acquisition of PDC Law, a Hertford-based property law firm, which provides debt recovery and legal services.
This transaction follows on from private equity firm Queen's Park Equity’s (QPE) original investment in Canford Law in December 2025 and represents a key step in QPE and Canford Law’s buy-and-build growth strategy in the legal services sector.
The acquisition will be central to Canford Law’s growth as a multi-discipline legal practice, adding specialist debt recovery legal services in the residential property sector and broadening the range of services it is able to offer to clients nationwide. PDC Law will be developed as a core part of Canford Law’s expanded offering, strengthening its capabilities in property-related collections and enforcement.
This acquisition marks an exciting milestone for Canford Law and QPE, as they look to execute on their buy-and-build strategy. As always, we thoroughly enjoyed working with the QPE team and are grateful for the opportunity to be part of this exciting next step.
It has been a real pleasure working with Seamus and the wider Osborne Clarke team on Canford’s acquisition of PDC Law. Their insight, support and advice were invaluable in navigating a complex transaction and regulatory landscape, and the various teams worked together seamlessly to keep the process on track. We look forward to continuing to work with the Osborne Clarke team as we build out the platform.
The Osborne Clarke corporate team was led by partner Seamus McKimm, associate Benjamin Smith, and trainee solicitor Eleanor Bolton. The wider team included: James Hunt (Partner, Banking), Emma Hallam (Senior Associate, Banking), Lara Fatemi (Partner, Human Capital), Dan Charie (Associate, Human Capital), Mathew Oliver (Partner, Tax) and Rohesia Vince-Brown (Senior Associate, Tax).
