Keir Pimblett
Keir is a Projects partner who acts for clients in the defence, cyber, technology and energy transition sectors.
He is an expert in advising the private sector on public digitalisation projects; regularly acting on complex procurements for digital technologies and services. This includes advising cloud IaaS/PaaS/SaaS and professional services providers across all key Crown Commercial Service frameworks (such as G Cloud, DOS5 and DIPS). He also advises on bespoke digital and cyber regulated procurements, leveraging his in-depth knowledge of cloud computing (including sovereign cloud and frontier AI) and UK Cabinet Office contracts, including the Model Services Contract and the Public Sector Contract.
He is part of the leadership team for the firm's Defence, Security and Aerospace group, acting for consortia on classified defence projects. He has over a decade's experience advising prime contractors on bidding for regulated procurements and negotiating contracts within the supply chain. He has acted on a wide variety of outsourcing and design and build projects in cyber, defence technology, shipbuilding and training services, and is highly experienced at negotiating with MoD(including DEFCONs and wider policy).
He co-leads the firm's heat networks practice, advising housebuilders, developers and funds on district heating and community heating projects. In pursuing his interest in Decarbonisation, he has developed specialisms in energy efficiency technologies and low carbon infrastructure projects.
Whether it's national security, digitalisation, or the energy transition I enjoy working on projects which have a strong social purpose and getting to understand the businesses and technologies which underpin them. To that end, I engage with clients at the outset to get a feel for how their solutions and businesses work, their commercial drivers and the real-world impact that the project will make.
