He specialises in providing regulatory advice on the establishment of sustainable investment funds and the implementation of sustainability-related disclosure requirements.
Beyond this, André assists clients with the regulatory assessment and structuring of business models and financial products and supports them in proceedings before BaFin, particularly authorisation and notification procedures. His other areas of practice include banking and anti-money laundering law, payment services, FinTech and crypto-assets.
André studied law in Mainz and completed his legal traineeship in Cologne, including a placement with BaFin in the area of Sustainable Finance. He also holds an LL.M. in International Commercial Law and worked as a research assistant at Osborne Clarke before joining the firm as a lawyer.
He co-runs the Osborne Clarke FinTech Blog.
What particularly interests me about financial regulation is how regulatory requirements affect commercial practice. My doctoral research examined sustainability-related disclosure requirements under European financial regulatory law in depth. This academic perspective also informs my approach as a lawyer: I seek not only to understand complex regulatory rules but also to consider their practical implications and help clients develop workable solutions. Clear communication and open dialogue are particularly important to me.
