A new regulatory regime for digital markets in the UK is to be ushered in, along with significant reforms to competition and consumer law. The Digital Markets Competition and Consumer Bill was passed yesterday in Parliament and is expected to receive royal assent today, as part of the "wash up" of legislation in the wake of Wednesday's general election announcement. Our Insight looks at what changes businesses should be aware of at this stage.

Our compliance webinar next week looks at the competition regulator's approach to green agreements between competitors, and how businesses can use the exemptions in its guidance to pursue their sustainability strategies without breaching competition rules.

The EU's AI Act regulating artificial intelligence has been approved by the Council of the EU and the first prohibitions will come into effect at the end of the year, with sizable fines for breach. Our Insight outlines which businesses will be affected (which goes beyond those established in the EU) and what they should do to prepare for the staggered implementation deadlines and ensure they will be compliant.

And our supply chains and logistics webinar series resumes next month, beginning with a look at the impact of the challenging economic climate on completing logistics developments and then turning to the importance of co-location in urban logistics and the planning issues involved.
