Osborne Clarke For Good is our way of making sure we’re a good corporate citizen, which is important to us. We do this by focusing on our five For Good pillars:

We want to use our skills and expertise for good and to make a positive contribution. We provide our legal expertise on a pro bono basis. We raise funds for charities that work in our communities. We focus on reducing our impact on the environment. We support many great initiatives, encouraging all our people to help meet our annual targets.

Using our expertise for good

Our skilled lawyers don’t only advise leading businesses. They also support legal advice centres, charitable organisations and individuals in need on a pro bono basis. Our pro bono clients include asylum seekers, victims of torture and international human rights causes as well as UK charities and community organisations.

OUR GOAL: In 2019/20, to provide 2,000 hours of our legal expertise to charitable and not-for-profit organisations.

Good for communities

Our people each have 28 working hours to use for volunteering, coordinated by highly active communities. Our UK offices also each support a nominated charity. Plus we have the Osborne Clarke Charitable Trust, which provides grants and matched giving.

OUR GOAL: in 2019/20, to donate £200k between the charitable fund and location charity fundraising. To achieve a 10% increase in the proportion of our people using their volunteering hours.

Good for our environment

Our highly active Sustainable Business Group oversees our environmental activities. No action is too small. So whether we’re reducing our energy consumption, maintaining our beehive or recycling crisp packets, we give it our all.

Being a good business

Ethical procurement, fair supplier management, an open dialogue with our stakeholders and good governance. These are all part of what we are. We constantly work to make sure that we do business in a fair and sustainable way.

OUR GOAL: To ensure our clients can trust our supply chain to meet their ethical standards.

Always a good employer

We have a number of active employee networks and have launched initiatives to support inclusion, diversity and social mobility, such as unconscious bias training. Our employees have a strong voice within our business via our Employee Council, The Hub.

OUR GOAL: To achieve improvements in key areas of our engagement survey.
