Is your business prepared for the EU, German and French Supply Chain Due Diligence Acts?

Legislation in terms of supply chain responsibility is coming for fashion this year, ending a long history of self-reporting and -regulation for the industry:

  • On 1 January 2023, the German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG) came into force and many brands have been reorganising their supply chains.
  • Since 5 January 2023, the Corporate Social Responsibility Directive (CSRD) has been in force at European level as a new regulation on non-financial reporting, which will bring about numerous changes – also in the German HGB and French law – and make internal adjustments necessary.
  • Drafts for a "European Supply Chain Act" – the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) – lay the foundation for further discussions and possible tightening of supply chain regulation.
  • The adoption of French law on Duty of Care (“Devoir de vigilance”) has already been in force since 2017 but now brings EU clients the opportunity to assess current regulation and learn lessons from pending litigation to mitigate their risks.

We already know the essential contents of the laws, but what do the applications look like in practice and what measures are companies already implementing? From LkSG, CSRD to CSDDD: how do the individual pieces of the puzzle fit together and what overlaps and innovations are there at the legal level? Our experts from France and Germany will discuss these questions in the upcoming webinar.
