We invite you to join Osborne Clarke’s Workforce Solutions team in person at our offices at One London Wall for our in person Employment Rights Act seminar.

Although the Employment Rights Act 2025 is now law much of the detail relating to the guaranteed hours reforms, shift notice/cancellation and changes to the Conduct Regulations will be confirmed in new regulations. Recent government consultations indicate that these changes will have far-reaching consequences for businesses who rely on, flexible labour and suppliers, such as staffing agencies, platforms and umbrella companies who engage such labour.

With implementation still planned for 2027 businesses need to start considering how the changes will affect them and what they can do to minimise the impact.

Join our industry experts to discuss how these reforms will affect users and suppliers of contingent workers.

Key areas will include:

  • New right to guaranteed hours for zero hours workers and agency workers: who will qualify and who must offer guaranteed hours?
  • Shift notice and cancellation pay: new rights to reasonable notice of work and pay for cancelled or curtailed shifts.
  • Platform workers: how will the reforms apply to workers engaged via digital platforms?
  • Myth busting the position on umbrella companies: likely key changes to the Conduct Regulations and impact on umbrella companies and staffing supply chains
  • Practical next steps: Steps to prepare, including reviewing workforce models and updating engagement and contract strategies ahead of the changes take effect in 2027.
