Inspirational speaker Mervyn Thomas joined Osborne Clarke's event on 15 June 2022 to mark the official launch of its Multi-Faith Group. Mervyn uses his international platform to raise awareness of the plight of individuals and communities facing persecution as a result of their faith or religion.

He is the current Chair of The UK Freedom of Religion or Belief (FoRB) Forum (UK Freedom of Religion or Belief Forum (ukforbforum.org) and Founder President of CSW, a Christian human rights organisation standing with those facing injustice for their beliefs.

At the event, Mervyn provided an interesting reflection of his experience over the last 40 years and gave the audience an insight into how religious persecution has changed over time. He also spoke openly about his experiences in countries such as Nigeria and Pakistan, where religious persecution is rife. It was a fascinating and inspirational talk and was attended by over 75 Osborne Clarke colleagues in person and virtually.

Osborne Clarke's Multi-Faith Group hopes to develop an awareness throughout the firm of the major religions and faiths, create an environment of understanding, support delivery of learning opportunities and act as a sounding board for the firm in relation to issues on religion and faith.
