As part of Osborne Clarke's growth in the US we are expanding our Business Development team. We seek a professional looking for a challenging career in consultative solution selling.

The market facing role will involve developing and executing go-to market plans for Osborne Clarke in the Technology and Media market sector and selected service lines to achieve our sales growth targets.  You’ll work closely with the US BD Lead, US team, and global team of Partners, Lawyers and Specialist Departments to execute business development and marketing strategies. The role will be based in our San Francisco office, focusing on opportunities across the West Coast as agreed in the target market plan, with the ability to travel as needed.

Sales Development

  • Develop and maintain sales plan/target market plan for the Tech / Media sector including target market definition, tailored value proposition, target clients, intermediaries, influencers and activity / marketing plan 
  • Identify and pursue qualified target clients 
  • Manage pursuit of qualified opportunities including leading the solutioning, proposal generation, presentations and closing stages.
  • Win new revenue generating clients for Osborne Clarke internationally 

Brand Development

  • Understand and communicate Osborne Clarke's strategy and capabilities to key influencers in target market 
  • Network in our chosen markets to positively promote the Osborne Clarke brand 
  • Develop relevant plan of activities including conference attendance, webinars, campaigns, industry associations to promote the Osborne Clarke brand in identified target markets
     

Relationship Development

  • Collaborate with colleagues in the US and internationally to effectively deliver our services in a profitable, efficient and client-centric manner 
  • Develop and expand selected client and contact relationships 

Organizational Development

  • Support Osborne Clarke's wider strategic approach through active participation in transfor-mation, sector, and service initiatives representing US / target market areas.
  • Collaborate proactively with OC US team to develop new routes to market 
  • Build internal network and support internal marketing initiatives 
  • Maintain up to date information in Osborne Clarke CRM and associated systems
  • Input requirements for marketing plans including priorities for marketing collateral and in-sight content.
     

Experience

The position presents a unique opportunity to join a dynamic US team with an established global law firm. Ideal for someone with 3+years of experience in a sales / business development role, and knowledge of and interest in the West Coast tech industry (experience in international business is a plus).

Background

The ideal candidate comes from a background in professional services, with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Travel

Local Bay Area travel required for events (and possibly to NYC and beyond on occasion).

  • Proven sales skills ideally in solution selling / professional services environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written proficiency in other languages is a plus). Ability to interact with people at all levels.
  • Team player used to strong cross location and functional collaboration
  • Client Relationship Management and project management skills are required.
  • Enjoys working independently and is self-motivated/proactive/assertive.
  • Capable of maintaining a high level of integrity and confidentiality and building trusting relationships quickly.
