The international legal practice looks back on a successful financial year: Osborne Clarke Germany, with its more than 200 fee earners, was able to increase its turnover in 2022 by around 12% to approximately EUR 71.6m.

International Osborne Clarke achieved a turnover of EUR 442m in the financial year 2022/23, which corresponds to an increase of 9% compared to the previous year (EUR 407m). Omar Al-Nuaimi, International CEO of Osborne Clarke: “Our teams have pulled together once again this year in an often turbulent market to deliver great results for our international clients and business. We're on track to hit EUR 500m turnover by 2025.”

The Built Environment sector recorded the most significant growth in Germany last year, with almost 51%. Financial Services (25%) and Mobility & Infrastructure (19%) ranked second and third respectively. The largest shares of turnover were achieved by by the Technology, Media & Comms (17%), Mobility & Infrastructure (10%) and Life Sciences & Healthcare (11%) sectors.

In terms of personnel, the legal practice was also on course for growth in 2022: Dr Ulrike Bär (tax law), Dr Philipp Reeb (corporate), Adrian Schneider (IT), Dr Viktoria Winstel (employment law) and Anne Wittmann (Insolvency & Restructuring) joined the partnership from its own ranks. In addition, a total of nine senior associates were appointed as counsels: André Braig (employment), Robert Briske (IP), Dr Till Gerhardt, Sabine von Oelffen (both IT), Fabian Mimberg, Alexandra Nautsch (both Corporate), Thomas Peter (Commercial), Romeo Szejnmann (Real Estate) and Dr Jens Wrede (Tax).

In addition, Partner Dr Lars Kutzner moved from Dentons to Osborne Clarke to enable the expansion of advice in the increasingly important area of white-collar crime and compliance. They were joined by Eric Romba and Dr Robert Oppenheim from lindenpartners (both Partners Banking & Capital Markets with a focus on FinTech) and Dr Lina Böcker (Partner, IT) from the renowned IT boutique JBB – all in the fast-growing Berlin office of Osborne Clarke.

Also from other law firms, Dr Bettina Enz (White-collar crime), Dr Mareike E. Klopp (Real Estate) and Dr Jule Martin (Energy Law) joined the Osborne Clarke team as Counsel in 2022.
