Osborne Clarke has advised the MedTech start-up Smart Reporting on its EUR 23 million Series C financing round.

Doctors spend up to 40 percent of their time on medical documentation, which not only affects their direct patient work, but also increases the personnel costs of clinics. Smart Reporting – founded in 2014 as a spin-off from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) Munich – has tackled this problem. The company utilises data-driven reporting and automation through imaging AI and generative AI in the medical field. Its software SmartReports offers a fully voice-controlled documentation solution for doctors and is primarily used in clinical areas such as radiology and pathology. It reduces reporting time, improves the quality of findings and promotes interdisciplinary collaboration.

The company has now successfully completed its Series C financing round: The internationally active life science VC TVM Capital Life Science, Bayern Kapital and existing investors are investing a total of EUR 23 million.

“Thanks to the commitment of our investors, we are able to consistently pursue our international growth strategy, which we have already started with our market entry in the USA. Our focus in the coming months will be on penetrating key global healthcare IT markets and productising AI-based solutions,” said Prof Dr Wieland Sommer, founder and co-CEO of Smart Reporting.

The Osborne Clarke team that advised Smart Reporting consisted of Philip Meichssner (lead) and Lorenz Chwaszcza (both Corporate / M&A / VC).
