Osborne Clarke has advised Octopus Legacy on its acquisition of will writing business WSL Ltd.

A fast-growing estate planning firm, Octopus Legacy is part of Octopus Group, one of the UK’s leading financial services and energy businesses.

Based in Brentford in west London, WSL was established in 1992 and has built a strong reputation for providing expert will writing and estate planning services, with a client base of over 300,000.

Sam Grice, CEO of Octopus Legacy, said the acquisition brought together WSL’s 33 years of experience with Octopus’s tech-driven, customer-first approach.

“It positions us to accelerate our growth even further and cement our status as a leading business in this space - while ensuring our customers continue to receive the very best estate planning services,”

“The advice and expertise provided by the team at Osborne Clarke throughout the transaction was invaluable and helped us to achieve a satisfactory conclusion.”
